FIELD: pipeline engineering.
SUBSTANCE: mud trap comprises tightly interconnected pipe and outlet branch pipe, conical member, and bottom. The generatrix of the conical member is inclined to the bottom at an acute angle of 50-70°. The distance between the bottom boundary of the longitudinal openings in the pipe and the boundary of the projections of the conical member on the surface of the pipe is no less than half of the distance from the bottom boundary of the conical member to the surface of the pipe. The members for preventing previously settled particles to penetrate into the fluid to be cleaned is made of a perforated ring. The bottom surface of the ring is provided with the second perforated ring for permitting displacement around the vertical axis. The second perforated ring is provided with a drive for moving it around the axis. In the operation position, the openings of ring perforation are not in coincidence.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of cleaning.
