FIELD: the invention refers to the field of radiolocation and may be used for definition of the location of a radiation source out of direct visibility of radar stations.

SUBSTANCE: the mode is characterized by that angular coordinates are measured and distances to the object are determined no less then n objects, simultaneously radiated by the source of radiation, n-1 relative time shifts of reflections of the radiation source from various pairs of objects are measured and the coordinates of the radiation source on measured angular coordinates of the objects are calculated on measured relative time shift reflections of the radiation source and on defined distances. The radar station has an active detection channel, a coordinate calculation block, several passive detection channels, a coordinate calculation block and an arrangement for controlling the antenna beams of the passive detection channels.

EFFECT: defines the coordinates of the over-the-horizon radiation source.
