FIELD: forestry and agriculture, in particular, ecological evaluation of variously aged forest territories.
SUBSTANCE: method involves taking test samples in the form of one-year buds at the end of vegetation period, for example at the end of September or in October; selecting discount woody plant; cutting test samples of buds at a portion adjoining their base; marking at butt end of each test bud the number of tree and the number of test sample; sending cut and marked test samples for laboratory investigations; measuring geometric parameters of each test bud by measuring geometric arrangement of buds on cut buds; on the basis of measured values of geometrical parameters of arrangement of buds on each test bud, revealing through statistic modeling the regularity of bud growth progress during vegetation period from statistic formula or regularity of bud distribution and formation of buds from respective formulas; judging ecological quality of woody plant and growing place by analyzing maximum relative errors of found statistic models. The smaller the relative error the higher is ecological quality.
EFFECT: reduced intensity of labor consumed for measuring of woody plant buds.
