SUBSTANCE: proposed thermionic converter reactor has flat elongated thermionic fuel elements noted for high output characteristics and compact core free from anode insulation wherein heat is released from thermionic fuel element collectors and discharged by means of heat pipes.

EFFECT: ability of element harnessing and full-scale beyond-reactor testing with nuclear fuel simulation by electric heating.
