METHOD FOR HIP JOINT'S ARTHRODESIS Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine, orthopedics, traumatology.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with treating patients with severe diseases of a hip joint, such as aseptic necrosis and severe articular traumas. It is necessary to dissect tissues layer by layer to lance proximal femoral end, dissect greater trochanter with superior-external femoral part and adjacent muscles followed by arthrotomy, performing the resection of joined articular surfaces, preparing the bed for trochanter at iliac body in supracotyloid area, replacing greater trochanter along with its rotation so that distal part should be applied onto the bed prepared in superior-posterior department of supracotyloid area, and proximal one should be applied at proximal femoral end along the plane of osteotomy and carrying out immobilization. Moreover, caput femoris should be shifted towards posterior wall of cotyloid cavity, and the defect developed between anterior department of the caput and cotyloid cavity should be filled in with LitAr preparation. Moreover, additional fixation of caput femoris is possible towards cotyloid cavity transarticularly. Also, additional external immobilization of a hip joint is possible due to applying a rod apparatus onto femur and ilium. The innovation enables to achieve earlier shortened terms of arthrodesis procedure along with developing the bony ankylosis.
