FIELD: textile industry, in particular, process and equipment for joining edges of knitted article such as stocking after accomplishment of manufacturing the same on circular fabric machine.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has movable holder designed for connection with knitting head of circular fabric machine. Holder is designed for supporting means for removal of stitches of terminating knitted course, with one of said means being adapted for removal of stitches of one half course, i.e., half the amount of stitches of terminating knitted course, while other of said means being adapted for removal of other half course. Movable holder is equipped with drive means and transfer means designed for transfer of stitches of one half course onto means designed for transfer of stitches of other half course.
EFFECT: simplified construction, reduced losses and damage to stitches by reduced handling therewith.
