FIELD: communication systems.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used to check centralized-control high-survivability fiber-optic service information (data) exchange network for condition includes sending probing signal over incident paths from network center to network stations. Newly introduced are following operations: prediction of fiber-optic path degradation in network stations and evaluation of predicted signal level. In addition, time sampling of network channel parameter monitoring is conducted. Prediction is started basing on two available readings of each-path characteristics. Time prediction is executed for two periods, long and short ones, the latter being shorter than long one by order of magnitude. One computer can be used for computing prediction operations and controlling monitoring system and data transfer network center equipment.
EFFECT: reduced loading of computing means incorporated in network monitoring systems for analyzing service data and controlling network, reduced data transfer mean time, enhanced efficiency and flexibility of network control.
