FIELD: drying peat.

SUBSTANCE: device comprises chamber with inlets for supplying damp peat and discharging dried peat, openings for supplying hot air and its discharging from the chamber, horizontally oriented perforated plate mounted in the bottom section of the chamber, and air duct for supplying hot air whose end is connected with the opening in the chamber for supplying hot air. The outlet for supplying damp peat is made in the top section of the chamber. The opening for discharging hot air from the chamber is made in the top wall. The outlet for discharging the dried peat is made in the intermediate section of the chamber in one of its sides above the plate. The perforation in the plate is made with alternating step that increases in the direction of the side provided with the outlet for discharging the dried peat.
