FIELD: electric engineering, in particular, method and device for checking authenticity of sheet material, primarily banknotes, with ultraviolet radiation.
SUBSTANCE: for checking authenticity of sheet material it is suggested to analyze ultraviolet radiation passing through sheet material. In suggested method, one lower threshold value, pointing at presence of forgery of emission paper, is determined, as well as one upper threshold value, pointing at presence of forgery of common paper, with usage of at least one authentic sample of sheet material, while authenticity of sheet material is determined, if amount of energy of radiation that passed through it is above lower threshold value and below upper threshold value. Design of device for checking material authenticity is described.
EFFECT: increased reliability when detecting forgery of banknotes, during irradiation of which with ultraviolet radiation no fluorescence effect occurs.
