FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method designed for controlling intrareactor processes involves formation of desired energy release profile in research reactor core by charging the latter with fuel assemblies differing in fuel burnout and full or partial introduction of absorbing control rods in core. Depth through which rods are introduced in core and their quantity depend on positive reactivity effect specified by safety standards as function of coolant density reduction in test channel and fuel distribution within core.
EFFECT: enhanced nuclear safety level in the course of tests.
