METHOD FOR PREDICTING SCOLIOTIC DEFORMITY CLINICAL COURSE Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B5/11

Abstract RU 2302818 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out stabilometric examination. Pressure center displacement values are compared in frontal plane in keeping eyes open and close and its direction relative to spinal curvature arches. Pressure center displacement being directed to the opposite side from deformity arch direction in C-shaped scoliosis cases or towards smaller arch in S-shaped scoliosis cases, when keeping eyes open, and if pressure center displacement, when keeping eyes close, increases, progressing scoliotic deformities are to be predicted. The pressure center deviation, when keeping eyes open, being directed towards deformity arch in C-shaped scoliosis cases or towards the basic deformity arch in S-shaped scoliosis cases, and, when keeping eyes close, the pressure center approaching normal position, slightly progressing scoliotic deformity or its absence are to be predicted. Pressure center deviation, when keeping eyes open, being directed towards the deformity arch in C-shaped scoliosis cases or towards the basic deformity arch in S-shaped scoliosis cases, and examination results, when keeping eyes close, showing greater pressure center deviation or no essential pressure center deviations, no scoliotic deformity progress is to be predicted.

EFFECT: high accuracy of prognosis.
