METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRESSION OF SCOLIOSE BY THE LEVEL OF SEROTONIN IN THE BLOOD SERUM OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS AGED FROM 3 TO 15 YEARS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01N33/74 G01N33/573

Abstract RU 2771873 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to orthopedics and traumatology, and can be used to predict the progression of scoliosis in children and adolescents using a blood test. In a child aged 3 to 15 years, serotonin is determined in the blood serum. With its value up to 300 ng/ml in children with scoliosis, the scoliotic deformity is considered non-progressive. When the value of the serotonin index is from 300 to 420 ng/ml, a sluggishly progressive course of scoliotic deformity is considered. With a value of more than 420 ng/ml, there is a high risk of progression of scoliotic deformity - a progressive course.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of accelerated and simplified determination of the probability of progression of scoliotic spinal deformity in children and adolescents with high accuracy, due to the determination of serotonin in the blood serum of children aged 3 to 15 years.
