FIELD: sorbents.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing sorbents based on naturally occurring polymers for use to clean polluted aqueous solutions. Invention proposes nutshell as source material, which is ground into particles as small as 10 mm in size, treated with aqueous solution of mixture of concentrated acetic and nitric acids at ratio (9.5-10):1 for 1.5-2.0 on boiling water bath and then solid residue is separated, washed, and dried stepwise at 60-65°C, 100-105°C, and 125-130°C, after which particles are divided to 3 mm in size.
EFFECT: simplified technology and improved environmental safety of the process.
