SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the process of production sorbents, in particular, to the methods of production of the sorbents on the basis of the natural polymers, which may be used for purification of the of water solutions from pollutions. The invention presents the method of production of the sorbent on the basis of the natural polymer in the form of the vegetative mass of the rush, which is subjected to cutting into the particles of the size up to 10-15 mm, cleaning from the pollution, drying at the temperature of 60-65°С then at the temperature of 100-105°С till the constant mass, to crushing till the fibrous mass. The method allows to raise efficiency of extraction of the heavy metals, and also to remove the organic pollutions, for example, the dye - the methylene blue.
