FIELD: wall and facing ceramics; manufacture of heat-insulating and decorative materials: tiles, blocks , wall panels, etc.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes grinding of clay component in the amount of 30-95 mass-%, introduction of foamglass grit , 0.1-5.0 mm in size in the amount of 5-70 mass-%, mixing the components, humidification of molding material, molding by semidry molding process under a pressure of 4 Mpa, drying and burning. Prior to introduction of foamglass grit into clay, it is sprinkled by 5-25-% aqueous solution of water glass and mixture of ground material is applied to specific surface of 150-600 m²/kg of silicon and aluminum oxides in the amount of 1.0-15.0 mass-% relative to dry agent of grit; then, it is treated with water-repellent agent and is dried. Silicon and aluminum oxides are mixed at mass ratio of 1: (2.2-2.8).Amount of water-repellent agent may be equal to 0.01-5.0 % of mass treated with water glass and containing silicon and aluminum foamglas grit.

EFFECT: extended field of application; improved heat-insulating and strength characteristics of ceramic items.
