FIELD: machine engineering, possibly removing slag, corrosion products, scale of rolling process, burrs from flat surfaces by combination use of needle milling cutter and grinding wheel.
SUBSTANCE: working is performed by means of combination tool including face needle milling cutter and built-up face grinding wheel; adjusting them for taking up their allowances whose sum is equal to total allowance. Tool is imparted to rotation and feed motion along worked surface and blank is subjected to reciprocation motion. Tool having built-up grinding wheel of diamond-abrasive segments is used; said tool is mounted on central shaft and it is embraced by needle milling cutter. Annular working end of needle milling cutter is intermittent one and it has dents and indentations. Width of indentations is at least by 20 times less than width of dents arranged along Archimedean helix on needle milling cutter working end having lip inclined by angle α relative to worked plane. It provides possibility for performing rough and final working, for removing large allowances.
EFFECT: improved efficiency and quality of working by means of tool of simplified design.
