FIELD: machining of metals. SUBSTANCE: in correspondence with process polishing surfaces of revolution by needle- grinding tool with discontinuous working surface blank and needle-grinding tool are imparted with rotary and feed motions along machined surface. Needle-grinding tool is positioned with axial displacement to direction of longitudinal feed of discontinuous abrasive working layer formed by recesses and protrusions of discontinuous grinding wheel. The latter is fixed on spindle with the aid of disks and bevel washers. Each disk has holes arranged on periphery and their number is equal to number of recesses in discontinuous grinding wheel. L-shaped bunches of wire pile are so placed in holes that recesses in grinding wheel re completely filled with bunches of wire pile which ensures high quality of machining and enhances efficiency.
