FIELD: shipbuilding; water-jet propellers with centrifugal pumps with the use of Magnus rotors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed water-jet propeller is provided with centrifugal pump with water scoop and one or two water ducts oriented perpendicularly relative to ship's CL; each of them is provided with at least one Magnus rotor at vertical axis of rotation. Fore and aft vertical walls of water duct have form of line of water flow at ratio of rotor circumferential velocity to rate of incoming flow equal to 3-4. Central axis of water duct consists of rectilinear section from the pump and curvilinear section, circular section for example terminating in nozzle. At outlet of pump housing, central axis of water duct forms angle of 24-28° with plane of ship's frame. Axis of rotation of Magnus rotor is shifted from surface connecting the points of engagement of rectilinear section with curvilinear section of water duct by magnitude of rotor radium towards incoming flow. Nozzle is made in form of one or several Laval nozzles at controllable critical section.
EFFECT: increased thrust and enhanced efficiency.
