Abstract RU 2303661 C2

FIELD: production of aluminum by electrolysis of melt salts in all types of aluminum cells provided with shelters for trapping gases evolved at electrolysis process.

SUBSTANCE: sealing member of anode tie rod of aluminum cell equipped with gas collecting shelter having horizontal platform with ports for mounting anode tie rods includes holding plates for surrounding the whole perimeter of anode tie rod or part of it. Flexible sealing member is arranged between plates along their contour or a part of it. Holding plates are mounted in horizontal platform and they are made of two parts. At least one part of plate is mounted with possibility of rotation in vertical plane, or its two parts are mounted with possibility of rotation in vertical plane in opposite directions. Flexible sealing member may be made of laminate textile material with horizontal arrangement of its layers or bundle of elastic metallic and (or) non-metallic wires.

EFFECT: improved fluid tightness of shelter, enhanced safety of works for changing anode.
