FIELD: technological processes; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for collecting and removing gases in an aluminum electrolysis cell with prebaked anodes. Device comprises a gas flue system containing horizontal main and additional flues, configured to enable/disable the main and additional flues, and gas-collecting hoods, each of the gas-collecting hoods being connected by a first channel with a horizontal main flue, forming a main gas-removal circuit, and a second channel with an additional vertical flue, forming an additional gas removal circuit, wherein the height of each successive first channel of the main circuit increases along the gas flow by 16÷24 % of the height of the previous first channel, and the height of each subsequent second channel of the additional circuit increases along the gas flow by 24÷26 % of the height of the previous second channel, in the lower part on the inner surface of the longitudinal sides of at least one gas-collecting hood along the direction of gas flow, separation plates are installed, the length of which is not more than 50 % of the height of the gas-collecting hood, at least two separating plates are symmetrically mounted on each side of the central axis of the gas-collecting hood, with the length of each following towards the central axis of the hood of the plate decreasing by 25–35 % relative to the previous one. System for collecting and removing gases in an aluminum cell and an electrolyzer containing said device are disclosed.
EFFECT: reduction of the volumes of gases removed from the cell is ensured, while maintaining high removal efficiency during the interoperational period and performing technological operations on the cell associated with the depressurization of the shelters.
