FIELD: communications engineering and satellite television.
SUBSTANCE: proposed mirror antenna feed that has waveguide, flange, adapter, and axially symmetric reflector is characterized in that its reflector is provided with concentric conducting rib which encloses round waveguide and is disposed between reflector bottom and round waveguide aperture. Chosen rib height h equals 0.25λ, where λ is operating wavelength. Such reflector design has made it possible to eliminate radiation through gap. Reflector can be attached to round waveguide through this conducting rib. Proposed feed can be used for axially symmetric and offset mirror antennas.
EFFECT: reduced energy loss and rear radiation level of feed, enhanced mirror antenna gain.
