FIELD: medical equipment, in particular, wheel chairs for invalids, may be used for movement within rooms, in the street, over cross-country, on steps.

SUBSTANCE: invalid's wheel chair has frame, drive wheels, skids with carrier wheel, lifting mechanism with drive, and adjustable seat fixed on frame. Drive wheels are positioned on half-shafts of rotary frame. Rotary frame is designed for fixing of drive wheels in upper position during movement of invalid's wheel chair on even surface and for fixing of drive wheels in lower position during movement on stair and also during replacement of wheels. In upper position of drive wheels, drive wheel hub sprocket is adapted for engagement with drive chain of lifting mechanism. Lifting mechanism has four triradial wheels fixed in pairs on two half-shafts and connected with one another through chain transmission.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved operating characteristics of invalid's wheel chair.
