FIELD: detoxification methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides a detoxification method associated with reuse of technical monoethanolamine utilized component of degassing formulations. Method resides in consecutively removing impurities from monoethanolamine composed of, wt %: monoethanolamine 76-84, diethanolamine 8-13, triethanolamine 2-6, iron salt and oxide precipitate 1-16, and urea compounds up to 4. Iron salts and oxides are separated by filtration and ureas are decomposed by heat treatment at 130-140°C under nitrogen atmosphere. Resulting solution is subjected to rectification in packed column ate top and bottom temperatures, respectively, 80-85 and 85°C and reduced pressure (25 mm Hg), after which monoethanolamine is recovered as commercial product.
EFFECT: enabled recovery of product suitable for further use and conversion of injurious by-products into environmentally safe compounds.
