FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process of the preparation of cyclopentane comprising successively carrying out partial and exhaustive hydrogenation of cyclopentadiene in a solvent in the presence of a catalyst. Process is characterized by partial hydrogenation is carried out at a temperature of 10…40 °C, hydrogen pressure 2…3 MPa and constant stirring of the solution of cyclopentadiene for 3…6 hours, and exhaustive hydrogenation is carried out in the stream at a temperature of 90…180 °C and hydrogen pressure 3…4 MPa for 4…10 s, whereupon before exhaustive hydrogenation, the hydrogenator of the partial hydrogenation is subjected to rectification purification.
EFFECT: increases the output of commercial product.
