FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle suspensions.
SUBSTANCE: proposed adjustable shock absorber is provided with bypass channels and strain-gauge transducers coupled with control device and mounted outside and inside cylinder, and step motor. It is installed between guide bushing and partition provided with holes and ring projections. Shaft of step motor is made hollow to provide travel of rod inside shaft. Shutters to change flow capacity of by-pass channels are secured on projecting end of shaft. Strain-gauge transducers generate electric signal proportional to piston travel speed. Signal is transmitted to control device which produces required number of pulses and transmits them to step motor. Shaft of step motor turns and turns shutters through angle providing change of flow capacity of channels to value building resistance with force regulated by program of resistance characteristic for specific travel and speed of piston of shock absorber.
EFFECT: dispensing with elastic valve elements in shock absorber, enlarged range of resistance characteristics.
