FIELD: electrical engineering, in particular, power sources based on fuel cells with a diaphragm-electrode assembly.
SUBSTANCE: according to the invention, the power source has fuel cells, DC/DC voltage converter and a storage cell, a fuel cell with a diaphragm-electric assembly is used as a fuel cell, it is based on a monolithic three-layer gradient-porous structure, whose central layer is made of porous non-conducting material, whose pores are filled with an ion-conducting electrolyte, and the outer gaseous diffusions layers of the diaphragm-electrode assembly are made of porous current-conducting material whose pores contain a catalyst in the area of contact with the central layer. The central layer of the diaphragm-electrode assembly has a thickness within 50 ÷ 150 μm, porosity within 60 ÷ 90 per cent and the mean dimension of pores within 1 ÷ 10 μm, the outer gaseous diffusion layers have a thickness within 150 ÷ 300 μm, porosity within 50 ÷ 60 per cent and the mean dimension of pores within 10 ÷ 50 μm, in the outer gaseous diffusion layers the dimension of pores decreases in the direction to the central layer of the diaphragm electrode assembly. Proton=conducting or anion-conducting electrolyte may be used as the ion-conducting electrolyte of the diaphragm-electrode assembly the central porous layer of the diaphragm-electrode assembly may be made of ceramics and/or glass. The outer gaseous diffusion layers of the diaphragm-electrode assembly may be made of a carbon material or metal. A lithium-ion or lithium-polymer cell may be used as a storage cell.
