FIELD: multimedia data transfer.
SUBSTANCE: instant bilateral propagation delay time is calculated when ready-to-receive packet (RR packet) of real time control protocol (RTCP) is received from receiving end using respective ready-to-receive packet field; varying bilateral-propagation current mean delay tome is evaluated using calculated value of instant bilateral-propagation time delay and mean varying delay time for bilateral propagation from preceding time moment; effective transfer speed is updated using measured current bilateral-propagation mean time delay. In this way RMS value of transfer speed is set so as to respond gradually to prevent impair in reliability of multimedia data reception caused by great changes in image and sound quality even on occurrence of essential instant changes in network.
EFFECT: ability of obtaining effective data transfer gradually showing essential changes in cannel condition and of preventing reduction in multimedia data reception reliability due to estimating gradually varying effective transfer speed.
