FIELD: technology for adaptive computation of encoding speed when using RTP/RTCP transmission protocol.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the invention, adaptive estimation of transmission speed is performed depending on packet loss coefficient; if the loss coefficient is low, then known equation is used for estimation, if loss coefficient is average, then linear approximation of known equation is used for estimation, and if loss coefficient is high, then predetermined value of minimal speed is used.
EFFECT: prevented overestimation of transmission speed in case of high packet loss.
