Method and device for measuring delay time on bilateral distribution for data traffic with variable speed provides achievement of technical result. In invention when generating random data traffic on side of sender ICMP protocol components are uses, length of ICMP protocol packets is selected by law of randomly truncated and offset geometrical distribution, time intervals between adjacent packs of ICMP protocol are selected by law of randomly geometrical distribution, ICMP protocol packets data fields are filled by random Bernoulli distribution law and random data traffic on recipient side is sent back.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of measuring delay time for bilateral distribution for traffic data with variable bit rate.
