FIELD: manufacturing processes in hydro-metallurgic production, namely production of alumina by sintering method.
SUBSTANCE: method of decomposition of aluminate solutions by carbonization comprises steps of mixing them with gases containing CO2 in presence of aluminum hydroxide seed; separation of liquid from particles of aluminum hydroxide formed during crystallization process; further processing it to alumina. At carbonization of aluminate solutions, aluminum hydroxide containing at least 75% of particles with size exceeding 40 micrometers is introduced as seed at seed relation in range 0.05 - 0.4. Invention allows to increase quantity of aluminum hydroxide with particle size + 40 micrometers.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method.
