FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed pin insulator used for overhead power transmission lines has external conductor-fixing head, cup-shaped component to receive pin, as well as rib-forming petticoat coupled with external head. External head is made of aluminum, pin member, of steel, and rib-forming member enclosing part of cup-shaped member length, of silicone rubber; inner surface of external head has annular drilling and petticoat is provided with annular projection radially directed toward cup-shaped member; space formed between the latter, head, and petticoat is filled with polymeric material made stiff by solidification. Inner surface of cup-shaped member is covered with silicone rubber layer. Material of glass-fiber base laminate type is used as stiff polymeric material.
EFFECT: improved design.
