FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: insulator consists of an internal insulating part (1) and an external insulating part (2), which are gaplessly connected to each other. A part (1), made of an electric insulating glass, electric porcelain or from structural plastic, has a head (5) with grooves (6) to fix a wire, and a threaded hole (7) for a pin (3). The head (5) may be made in the form of a chute (8) with a freely rotating split bushing (9) inserted in it, making it possible to exclude exit of the wire (4) from the chute (8) in case of mechanical actions and damage of the internal insulating part (1) with the wire (4) during rolling. The external insulating part (2), made as bell or cone shaped, from a polymer hydrophobic material, defines the electric disruptive strength of the insulator and the mechanical strength of insulator under action of bending mechanical loads from the wire (4). The material for the external insulating part (2) is an organosilicic or silicon composition, which ensure the required length of the current leakage path along surface of the insulator between the wire (4) and the pin (3).
EFFECT: pin-type line insulator differs by high characteristics in part of operational reliability, mechanical strength and disruption voltage, and also ensures moisture discharge specific voltages that are twice higher than in insulators made of hydrophilic glass or porcelain.
