FIELD: manufacture of vacuum circuit breakers, switches, relays, and other high-voltage electronic devices.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used for manufacturing high-voltage vacuum switch and its contact gap pre-burning with high voltage in the course of vacuum-engineering treatment includes voltage application across open contacts and across spark-gap control electrode connected in parallel with them simultaneously; spark-gap firing voltage is supplied on occurrence of high-power breakdown or gaseous discharge between contacts from resistive voltage divider connected in series with contacts to spark-gap control electrode.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability, service life, and yield due to reduced leakage current and insulation sheath heating, as well as due to eliminating excessive contact pre-burning effect.
