SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the vacuum circuit breakers manufacturing technology, concerns the method of their contact gap training with high voltage and can be used, in particular, in the vacuum reed switch production. Vacuum reed switches training method involves supply of voltage to their open contacts in the form of periodic packs of high-frequency pulses, wherein the packs repetition frequency and their duration, amplitude and frequency of high-frequency voltage pulses are equal to 2.0–3.0 kHz, 10.0–20.0 mcs, 10–15 kV and 400–500 kHz, respectively, and training time of reed switches is 10–30 seconds.

EFFECT: increased electric strength of reed switches due to selection of optimum conditions of their training.
