FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: rope shock absorber comprises flexible member made of a spiral made of steel rope and two metallic plates provided with openings for the rope. The plates are mounted on the turns of the spiral at the diametrically opposite points of its circumference. The opening for the rope are oval. The smallest distance in the oval openings for the rope ranges form 0.7 to 0.8 of the rope diameter. The surfaces of the plates are provided with the grooves that are arranged at the sites of positioning the rope. The grooves are made of trapeziums those maximum width ranges from 0.7 to 0.8 of the rope diameter and the minimum width ranges from 0.4 to 0.5 of the rope diameter. The depth of the groove is 0.20-0.25 of the rope diameter. The metallic plates are shaped into rings or rectangles, with a width of 1.5-2.0 of the rope diameter. The metallic plate is connected with the second wavy-like plate by means of a nondetachable joint. The rope is set in the openings defined by the nondetachable joint. The metallic plates could be provided with parallel slots to define yokes. The rope is secured in the openings of the yokes whose width ranges from 1.5 to 2 of rope diameter. The method comprises winding the steel rope on the mandrel, setting two metallic plates with openings for the rope on the spiral of steel rope at points located at the diametrically opposite sites. The nondetachable joint between the rope and plates is made by means deforming round openings into oval ones. The mandrel is then removed. The tip of the tool is made of a trapezium whose maximum width ranges from 0.7 to 0.8 of the rope diameter and minimum width ranges from 0.4 to 0.5 of the rope diameter or made of a half cylinder with a radius of 0.35-045 of the rope diameter. The depth of the punching is 0.2-0.25 of the rope diameter. According to the second version, the two additional flat metallic plates are mounted on the spiral of the steel rope. The width of the bent plates is 1.5-2.0 of the rope diameter. The bent plates are secured to the flat plates to form an opening for the rope between them. According to the third version, the metallic plates are provided with parallel slots which are spaced at a distance from 1.5 to 2 of the rope diameter. The yokes are made by punching the metal between the slots.
EFFECT: improved design and simplified method.
