FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes interaction of 2,6-di-tert-butylphenole with paraform in inert atmosphere in presence of catalyst in polar solvent medium followed by isolation of target product. As heterogeneous catalyst potassium carbonate or hydrocarbonate on pseudo-boehmite is used and process in carried out in 2,6-di-tert-butylphenole/paraform ratio of 1:1.05-1.1, respectively at temperature of 60-75°C.
EFFECT: simplified method, increased yield of target product.
