SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of metallurgical equipment and cutting tools. Proposed steel contains, mass %: carbon 0.8-1.0, silicon 0.3-0.5, manganese 5.0-6.0, chromium 10.0-12.0 tungsten 6.0-7.0, molybdenum 4.5-5.5, vanadium 0.5-1.0, nickel 0.2-0.4, niobium 2.0-4.0, hafnium 4.0-5.0m boron 0.1-0.2, the remainder being iron.
EFFECT: increased thermal stability of steel and, consequently, service life of articles made of steel.
