FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for silencing aerodynamic noise of pneumatic equipment and compressed gas or air exhaust systems. Proposed muffler contains intake branch pipe and housing with noise absorbing element rigidly connected with housing. Housing has branch pipe made in form of one of side covers of housing with inner cylindrical bushing rigidly connected square to cover and coaxial with peripheral perforated bushing. Other end of inner cylindrical bushing is rigidly connected with second side cover of housing by means of screw engaging with threaded part of bushing. Calibrated holes, diameter d, are made in inner bushing, axes of holes being square to axis of bushing. Space formed by perforated bushings is filled with noise-absorbing material. Ratio of length H of outer peripheral perforated bushing to its diameter D lies within range of optimum values H/D=1.0-2.5. Ratio of diameter d of calibrated holes to inner diameter d1 of inner bushing lies within range of optimum values d/d1=0.3...0.9. Ratio of thickness b of noise-absorbing element to length H of peripheral perforated bushings lies within range of optimum values b/H=0.05-0.25.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of noise silencing.
