FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of silencing aerodynamic noise of pneumatic equipment and compressed gas or air exhaust systems. Proposed muffler contains intake branch pipe and housing rigidly connected with branch pipe. Housing has lower and upper covers with grooves for fixing of at least one outer cylindrical bushing made of porous material clamped together by inner cylindrical bushing coaxial with bushing made of porous material. One end of inner cylindrical bushing is rigidly connected with lower cover, and other end is connected with upper cover by screw engaging with threaded part of bushing. Calibrated holes of diameter d are made in bushing. Axes of said holes are square to axis of bushing. Threaded part of intake branch pipe is rigidly coupled with lower cover. Ratio of height A of bushing made of porous material to its diameter D is within range of optimum values A/D=1.5-2.5. Ratio of diameter d of calibrated holes to diameter of inner bushing is within range of optimum values and ratio of thickness b of outer bushing made of porous material to its height A is within range of optimum values b/A=0.05-0.1.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of noise silencing.
