FIELD: processes and apparatuses for suppressing noise.

SUBSTANCE: noise silencer includes cylindrical housing rigidly joined with end inlet and outlet branch pipes; central partition mounted inside housing. Inner walls of housing are faced with sound absorbing material. Inlet and outlet branch pipes are in the form of cylindrical sleeves mounted along different axes in housing. Relation of length b of housing to maximum dimension V of its end planes, for example made in the form of ellipse, circle, square is in range of optimal values 1.0 - 2.5. Said end planes are made of sound absorbing material.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of noise silencing due to possibility for adjusting silencer by rotation of its sound absorbing member.
