FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed positive silver plate for alkali battery has current collector and porous silver powder based active material; mentioned powder has porous particles measuring 400 - 500 μm, particle pore size is 0.5 - 8.0 μm, specific surface area, 0.1 - 0.3 m2/g, and bulk density, 1.0 - 1.8 g/cm3. Powder particles can be formed from irregular-shape nonporous crystals measuring 1.0 to 5.0 μm. Silver powder can incorporate 0.5 - 0.8 mass percent of silver chloride, 0.8 - 1.2 mass percent of potassium hydroxide, 1.0 - 1.2 mass percent of silver metal powder with particles measuring below 40 μm produced by electrolytic or subtractive method. Silver-zinc alkali battery has jar accommodating electrolyte-impregnated positive and negative plates with separator in-between; positive plate used in battery is manufactured by newly proposed method.
EFFECT: enhanced charging and discharging characteristics of positive plate and of alkali battery using this plate.
