FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; composition of steels used for manufacture of hot deformation tools.
SUBSTANCE: proposed steel contains the following components, mass-%: carbon, 0.3-0.5; silicon, 0.05-0.1; manganese, 1.0-1.8; chromium, 6.0-8.0; nickel, 1.0-1.5; molybdenum, 0.1-0.3; copper, 0.1-0.3; tantalum, 0.1-0.3; niobium, 0.3-0.5; boron, 0.3-0.5; aluminum, 1.4-2.2; titanium, o.3-0.5; the remainder being iron.
EFFECT: enhanced hardness and erosion resistance of steel in aluminum melt.
