FIELD: methods for protection of various equipment, in particular, refinery and petroleum chemical ones, against the destruction action of the shock wave in sudden probable emergency situations.
SUBSTANCE: the method for protection consists in placement of a protective screen having an explosion-proof coating on the path of motion of the shock wave, the screen represents a plate having a non-spherical curvature, for example, a cylindrical one, and a curvilinear surface, for example, a wavy one, and installed on the path of motion of the shock wave by the inside or outside.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of the structural protection against the destructive action of the shock wave, simplified construction of the protective screen, provided multiple use.
