FIELD: computer science.
SUBSTANCE: methods are suggested for realization of new password of authentication client, authenticated by authentication server. In accordance to the invention, authentication client receives new password from its user. From new password and information, provided by authentication server, authentication client outputs "password verifier" field. Password verifier is then used in conjunction with authentication server. The new password itself is never sent to authentication server, and it is practically impossible to derive the new password from password verifier. Authentication client and authentication server derive a new set of authentication and encryption safety keys from new password and password verifier, respectively, in parallel. The process may be repeated to limit amount of data sent with usage of any certain set of keys.
EFFECT: ensured safety of computing environment from computer attacks.
