SUBSTANCE: to implement the method, it is provided: receiving a probe request frame, which includes a system configuration identifier; determining, whether the received system configuration identifier corresponds to the stored system configuration identifier; provided that the received system configuration identifier corresponds to the stored system configuration identifier, transmitting the shorter trial response frame in response to the probe request frame, wherein the reduced test response frame contains fewer configuration parameters than all configuration parameters of the configuration parameter set; and assuming that the received system configuration identifier does not match any stored system configuration identifier, transmitting a full probe response frame in response to the probe request frame.
