DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING NEUROGENOUS AND ORTHOSTATIC TYPES OF SYNCOPAL SYNDROME Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B5/21 A61B5/452

Abstract RU 2307581 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out passive orthostatic test, monitoring cardiac rhythm parameters and measuring twice arterial blood pressure. The first measurement is taken in initial position and the second one in 2-3 min after having transferred the patient into orthostatic position. Lower Kolmogorov entropy boundary of R-R intervals is determined of two rhythmogram fragments of not less than 5 min duration, corresponding to initial horizontal and orthostatic position. When having Korth > Kinit *[0.25-0.025*(SADorth-SADinit)], neurogenous syncopal syndrome type is to be diagnosed. Korth<Kinit *[0.25-0.025*(SADorth-SADinit)], orthostatic syncopal syndrome type is to be diagnosed. Kinit is the lower Kolmogorov entropy boundary of R-R intervals of the rhythmogram fragments corresponding to initial horizontal position. Korth is the lower Kolmogorov entropy boundary of R-R intervals of the rhythmogram fragments corresponding to initial orthostatic position. SADinit is the systolic arterial blood pressure in initial horizontal position. SADorth is the systolic arterial blood pressure in 2-3 min after having transferred the patient into orthostatic position.

EFFECT: high reliability of diagnosis.
