FIELD: method and apparatus for displacing logs in cutting-off machine tools.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes platform having one or several lengthwise ducts inside which logs to cut-off are placed and pushing unit. The last acts together with said platform and it is designed for acting upon back side of logs and for pushing them along respective guiding ducts to cutting units. Apparatus is also provided with clamping unit arranged between pushing unit and cutting unit and designed for gripping logs to be pushed along guiding ducts of platform by means of pushers just till cutting unit. Method comprises steps of lengthwise motion of logs to be cut while displacing pushing unit acting upon back side of logs to be cut for pushing logs to cutting unit; next lengthwise motion of logs at drawing them by means of clamping unit. Logs pushed by means of pushing unit are gripped and brought to cutting unit.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, improved operational reliability of apparatus.
