ELECTRIC SEPARATOR OF DRILLING COLUMN Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC E21B47/12 

FIELD: well drilling, possible use for building face telemetry systems with electromagnetic communication channel as signal emitter.

SUBSTANCE: the separator is made of two tubular elements rigidly interconnected by conical thread, with electro-isolation material positioned in their connection to prevent conductivity in "metal-metal" pair with electro-isolation covers positioned on external surface and on the surface of its channel. Rigid threaded connection of electrically divided tubular elements is made with height of thread coils decreasing towards increase of diameters of thread-forming conical surfaces of recesses and crests of thread. Electro-isolation cover of channel surface is made in form of tubular insert of isolation material, installed in a channel and held by each end in the body of corresponding tubular element by means of thread screw-in mandrel-ring. Each end of tubular insert is expanded into local extension of channel, made in corresponding tubular element. On both sides of the electric separator connecting threads are provided.

EFFECT: increased consumer properties - durability, reliability and maintainability without complication of manufacturing technology.
