METHOD FOR EVALUATING RECONSTRUCTIVE HEPATIC PROCESSES Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G01N33/48 A61B10/00

Abstract RU 2308031 C1

FIELD: medicine, morphological diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with clinical testing patients with hepatic diseases and predicting the disease flow. One should carry out morphological evaluation of hepatic tissue state upon histological sections. Morphometric parameters should be obtained with the help of a calibrated ocular netting by detecting the following parameters: the number of mitoses, the quantity of mirror-image cells, the number of integral nucleus-containing cells and the number of netting-intersection points that are not observed at the sections of hepatocytes and their nuclei. According to the results of these measurements one should estimate: the value of functional cellular weight that characterizes parenchymatous-stromal relations in tissue volume unit, the value of nuclear weight that reflects nuclear-cytoplasmatic relations in tissue volume unit, the weight index of mirror-image cells (WIMIC) that depicts the degree of realization of reconstructive reserves of hepatic tissue volume unit, the weight-mitotic index (WMI) that shows proliferative activity of hepatic tissue volume unit, the value of functional cariocellular index that characterizes the quantity of nuclear material in a cell in hepatic tissue volume unit, the value of hepatocyte's average section area that illustrates average size of a hepatocyte being proportional against its functional activity. The innovation enables to determine the parameters that characterize the degree and peculiarities of current reconstructive (reparative) parenchymatous processes and, also, evaluate potential regenerative parenchymatous abilities.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of evaluation.
