FIELD: packages, particularly metal can closures having curled edges.
SUBSTANCE: closure comprises top part and skirt snap-fitted over said curved edge. The closure ring-shaped gripping means pivotally connected to plastic closure skirt or to peripheral area of closure top. Gripping ring preferably has diameter exceeding that of closure top and substantially surrounds skirt in initial position. Closure has convex zone made in closure top to facilitate closure removal. The ring has diameter less than closure top, wherein closure has annular groove formed in top thereof and adapted to receive the ring so that the ring is fully inserted in the groove.
EFFECT: increased strength of closure fixation on lid, improved convenience of closure opening and resealing by user.
